I am very interested in history. The majority of my history knowledge comes from playing the Total War series with my friend, Ryan. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about history. He has sparked interest in me to learn more about History.
I also enjoy Philosophy. As someone who loves math and physics, it might seem strange that I enjoy something that has no concrete answers. I think that math can work with Philosophy to find the answers to everything. The best Philosophers were also Mathematicians, and the best Mathematicians were Philosophers.
In this course, I would like to explore Sociology and Economics. I have had no experience with those two topics. For Anthropology, I would like to explore lesser known or defeated empires. I also love discussions and will participate actively in almost all topics of discussion.
One of the things that challenge me about Social Studies is Aboriginal culture. It isn’t that I don’t understand it but I was taught it for the entirety of grade 3, 4, and 5. I don’t want to do too much of that.
So far I have really enjoyed this course. I have learned a lot in the first week or two. I really enjoyed the Christopher Columbus chapter. That tied into my love of history. I continue to think about it and have had many conversations about whether what Columbus did was morally wrong, or not. We haven’t done much yet in this course but I think that I will enjoy everything we do.
